Firefly Room

Starting at ~4 years

The Firefly Room is a mix of last year's Grasshoppers opting not to do HCS UPK and children that attend HCS UPK. In this program our young learners are preparing for kindergarten, with a strong emphasis on socialization. We follow a play-based routine with learning centers, circle time and the development of early literacy skills. Children are introduced to a science center where they can explore and perform simple experiments. Literacy skills are encouraged in our writing and reading centers. Number exploration, counting pieces, puzzles and art opportunities are often available. This room is located in the new CNS expansion space in the terrace level of Hamilton Central School.
